Alethea Parker joined Artcraft Management in 1998 as a Property Manager, and quickly grew with the company until becoming President in 2011. Alethea’s multi-faceted background encompasses finance, accounting, property operations, personnel administration, training, and education.
Alethea’s property management career began in 1988; in 1992, she became the Property Manager of a large HUD property with substantial economic issues and deferred maintenance problems. Alethea’s site experience went on to include the lease-up of new construction luxury and affordable senior communities, as well as the management of distressed properties; she played an integral part in revising the management plan and bringing the team together to create high occupancy and collections. As a Regional Manager, she helped Artcraft grow to encompass properties of all types. That experience was then shared throughout the company to bring together systems and policies that created the Artcraft Management Team that exists today.
Educational and professional affiliations and designations include: Virginia Tech, Certified Assisted Housing Manager, and Registered Apartment Manager (RAM). Alethea has also served as an executive on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Apartment Management Association (VAMA) and is currently the Legislative Chair for VAMA and a member of the Appfolio Customer Advisory Board.
